**Verdict:** A cheap, focused shortcut past the boring setup of a Next.js + Supabase app for Claude Code, but it's brand new, unvetted and only starts projects.

SupaKit connects your GitHub, Supabase and Vercel accounts, creates the repo, database and deployment for a new Next.js app, writes CLAUDE.md and a product spec, and gives you an opening prompt for Claude Code. The $49 AppSumo deal is half its own lifetime price. It's a Radar listing from a tiny, months-old company with one buyer review and no docs yet.

## Pros

- Creates the GitHub repo, Supabase database and Vercel deployment for you, with no terminal
- Writes CLAUDE.md and PRODUCT_SPEC.md so Claude Code starts with real context
- SupaKit Base boilerplate has auth, Stripe payments and Resend email pre-wired, and it's open source
- Unlimited projects and multiple GitHub, Supabase and Vercel accounts
- $49 once, half the $99 price on SupaKit's own site

## Cons

- AppSumo Radar listing: not vetted and no "We Got Your Back" guarantee
- Only starts new projects; it can't connect to or maintain an existing app
- Very new: founded in 2026, one buyer review, and no docs or tutorials yet
- Locked to one stack (Next.js, Supabase, Vercel), so it's no help if you use anything else
- You still pay separately for Claude Code and for any paid Supabase or Vercel plans

## Choose it if

- You start new Next.js apps with Claude Code and hate the setup steps
- You're not comfortable with the terminal, GitHub or environment variables
- You want auth and Stripe payments wired in from the first commit

## Skip it if

- You want help with an app you've already started
- You build on a different stack, such as Firebase, Rails or Laravel
- You'd rather have an all-in-one builder that also writes the code, like Lovable or Bolt

## Pricing

- AppSumo lifetime deal: $49 one-time — Unlimited new projects, both boilerplates and all future updates.
- Lifetime (direct): $99 one-time — The same lifetime licence bought on supakit.pro, with a 60-day guarantee.

## Deal terms

- Pay once, unlimited new projects
- Half the $99 price on SupaKit's own site
- Radar listing: no We Got Your Back cover
- Redeem within 60 days; not stackable
- Claude Code, Supabase and Vercel costs are separate

### Why I looked at SupaKit

Claude Code is very good at writing an app once the project exists. The part that trips up newcomers comes before that: creating a GitHub repo, setting up a Supabase database, connecting Vercel, copying environment variables into the right places and explaining the project to the AI. SupaKit's [AppSumo deal](https://appsumo.8odi.net/zz3O3G) promises to do all of that in about ten minutes, without a terminal.

I went through the listing, the vendor's site, the questions buyers have asked and the boilerplate it ships. I couldn't find a single independent video review yet, so this one is based on research rather than my own build. Here's what I found.

### What SupaKit actually is

SupaKit is a **setup wizard for new apps**, not an app builder. You connect your own GitHub, Supabase and Vercel accounts, give the project a name and a description, and SupaKit does the plumbing:

- creates the GitHub repository from a starter template
- provisions the Supabase database
- deploys to Vercel and injects the environment variables
- writes a **CLAUDE.md** (instructions for Claude Code) and a **PRODUCT_SPEC.md** from your description
- gives you an opening prompt to paste into Claude Code

From then on, Claude Code writes the actual features. SupaKit doesn't write your app, host it or maintain it, and it isn't a replacement for Claude Code. You still need Claude Code access of your own.

### The features that stood out to me

#### Repo, database and deployment in one pass

The main value is time and confidence. Each step is easy for an experienced developer but full of small traps for everyone else: the wrong env var name, a database URL in the wrong place, a Vercel project linked to the wrong repo. SupaKit does them in order and shows a clear error with a one-click retry when a step fails. You can connect several GitHub, Supabase and Vercel accounts and pick which ones each project uses, which helps if you keep client work separate.

#### CLAUDE.md and a product spec from day one

Claude Code works much better when the repo explains itself. SupaKit generates a CLAUDE.md with the stack and conventions, plus a product spec from your description. The one buyer review on AppSumo says both files worked straight away with Claude Code. That's a small thing, but it's exactly the context most first-time builders forget to write.

#### A boilerplate with the boring parts done

You can start blank or use **SupaKit Base**, an open-source starter on Next.js 15 (App Router) with TypeScript, Drizzle, Tailwind and shadcn/ui. It comes with Supabase magic-link sign-in and row-level security, Stripe Checkout, webhooks and the customer portal, and Resend for email. Auth and payments are where AI-written apps most often go wrong, so starting with them already wired in is a real advantage. You can also pick DaisyUI, HeroUI or Chakra UI instead of shadcn/ui.

#### Credentials handled sensibly

SupaKit says it encrypts your OAuth tokens and API keys at rest with AES-256-GCM and never stores your database password. I can't audit that from the outside, but it's the right approach, and it's stated clearly.

### Where SupaKit falls short

- **It's an unvetted Radar listing.** AppSumo marks it as Radar, so AppSumo hasn't vetted it and the extended "We Got Your Back" guarantee doesn't apply. You still get the standard 60-day refund window.
- **New projects only.** The founder confirmed in the Q&A that you can't connect an existing project, and described SupaKit as a quickstart rather than a tool to maintain apps. Once it hands the project to Claude Code, its job is done.
- **One stack.** It's Next.js, Supabase and Vercel. If you build on anything else, there's nothing here for you.
- **Very young product.** The company was founded in January 2026, has a team of 1–10 people and has one buyer review. There are no docs or tutorials yet; the founder says to email him if you get stuck. The listing even carried a bullet copied from another product by mistake, which he has acknowledged.
- **Other costs.** The deal covers SupaKit only. Claude Code, and any paid Supabase or Vercel plans you outgrow into, are separate bills.

### SupaKit pricing: $49 deal vs. buying direct

SupaKit doesn't sell a monthly plan. On its own site it costs **$99 once** for lifetime access, unlimited projects and future updates, with a 60-day money-back guarantee. The AppSumo deal is the same lifetime licence for **$49**, so the saving is a real $50.

- **One tier:** $49, unlimited projects, both boilerplates, all future updates
- **Redemption:** redeem your code within 60 days of purchase
- **Refunds:** 60 days through AppSumo, with no "We Got Your Back" cover. The listing also says "AI skills" can't be refunded once redeemed, without explaining what that means, so ask before buying if that matters to you
- **Stacking:** not stackable, and you don't need to; one code is unlimited

The maths is simple: if SupaKit saves you even one evening of setup on your first app, it has paid for itself.

### What other buyers are saying

There's very little to go on yet. The single AppSumo review (five tacos, July 2026) says it saved hours of boilerplate work, that the full stack came up quickly, and that the generated files plugged straight into Claude Code. The minor hiccups they hit were with Vercel and Supabase themselves, not SupaKit.

The buyer questions are more revealing: people asking for walkthrough videos, whether it works with existing projects (it doesn't), and how it compares to Emergent or Lovable. The founder answers quickly and candidly, including saying he hasn't used some competitors. I found no independent YouTube reviews; search results for "SupaKit" are dominated by an unrelated cat-harness brand.

### My verdict

SupaKit does one narrow job: get a new Next.js + Supabase app set up, deployed and documented so Claude Code can start building. If that's how you want to work and the setup is what slows you down, $49 is a fair price, and half what the vendor charges directly.

The risk is the vendor, not the idea. It's a months-old, tiny company on an unvetted Radar listing, so use the 60-day refund window to try it on a real project. If you need help with an existing codebase, or want a tool that writes the app too, look at Lovable or Bolt instead.

## FAQs

### Do I need to know how to code to use SupaKit?

Not for the setup. SupaKit connects your accounts, creates the repo, database and deployment, and writes the project files without a terminal. Claude Code then writes the app, so you'll still need Claude Code access and be comfortable giving it instructions.

### Can I use SupaKit with an existing project?

No. The founder confirmed SupaKit only creates new projects. It's a quickstart tool, not a way to maintain or update an app you've already built.

### Is the SupaKit AppSumo deal cheaper than buying direct?

Yes. SupaKit sells the same lifetime licence for $99 on its own site. The AppSumo deal is $49 for unlimited projects and future updates.

### Does the SupaKit deal include Supabase, Vercel or Claude Code?

No. You connect your own GitHub, Supabase and Vercel accounts, and you need your own Claude Code access. Their free tiers have limits, and any paid plans are billed separately.

### Is SupaKit covered by AppSumo's We Got Your Back guarantee?

No. It's a Radar listing, so it isn't vetted by AppSumo and only the standard 60-day refund applies. Redeem your code within 60 days of purchase.

## Alternatives

- Lovable: choose it instead if you want a browser-based builder that writes and hosts the whole app from prompts
- Bolt.new: choose it instead if you'd rather prototype and edit the app in the browser without connecting your own accounts first
- ShipFast: choose it instead if you're a developer who just wants a polished Next.js boilerplate and will do the setup yourself
