Our verdict
Sonny gives every client their own branded workspace — live chat, email inbox and help center — and the AppSumo deal covers unlimited workspaces, agents and conversations for $149 once. It's a strong buy for multi-client support, but it skips WhatsApp and social, keeps AI as a paid extra, and comes from a company that's barely a year old.
Best for: Agencies and freelancers handling chat and email support for several client sites
Pros
Unlimited client workspaces, agents and conversations on a single $149 code
Each client gets a branded chat widget, help center and email sending from their own domain
Client staff can log in with access limited to their own workspace
API, webhooks and an MCP server are included without paying for AI
Pays for itself versus the $19.99/month plan in about 7.5 months
A hands-on founder who ships updates every few weeks and answers buyers within a day
Cons
No WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or SMS — chat and email only
AI isn't included, and the add-on pricing differs between AppSumo and Sonny's own site
No native Shopify app, so agents can't see orders or carts in a conversation
The agent dashboard stays Sonny-branded, and hiding "Powered by Sonny" needs the AI add-on
AppSumo Radar listing: not vetted by AppSumo and not covered by its extended guarantee
Very young bootstrapped vendor with a handful of public reviews and no published SOC 2, GDPR DPA or 2FA details

I went through Sonny's AppSumo listing, every founder update, the buyer reviews and Q&A, plus Sonny's own features, pricing, docs and security pages. I also looked for YouTube reviews — the only one I found repeated feature claims Sonny's FAQ contradicts, so I didn't rely on it. I haven't run Sonny on a live client account yet; I'll add hands-on notes and a score when I do.
If you look after support for more than one client, you know the problem: most helpdesks charge per seat or per workspace, so adding a fifth client site means adding a fifth bill. Sonny is pitched squarely at that problem — one login, a separate workspace for every client, and (on the AppSumo deal) no limit on how many you create.
I spent time going through everything Sonny has published: the AppSumo listing and every founder update, the buyer reviews and questions, and Sonny's own feature, pricing, docs and security pages. Here's what I found, including the parts that gave me pause.
What Sonny actually is
Sonny is a shared inbox for website live chat and email, with a help center bolted on. Each client gets a workspace with its own inbox, channels, contacts, team and settings, and you jump between workspaces in one click. Inside a workspace, you can split things further into channels — one per brand, site or email address.
It is not a social inbox. There's no WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or SMS, and the FAQ says so plainly. I mention this up front because at least one third-party write-up I found claims otherwise, and it's the kind of thing you don't want to discover after buying.
The features that stood out to me
A real workspace per client
This is the headline, and it's well thought through. You can invite a client's own staff as admin, agent or viewer, and they only ever see their own workspace. One AppSumo buyer asked for teammates to be locked to specific channels, and the founder shipped it within about a month — it now lives under Settings → Users.
Your client's brand, not Sonny's
The chat widget takes each client's colours, logo and position, and installs with a single script tag on Shopify, WordPress, Webflow or anything else. Email can once you add the DKIM, SPF and DMARC records Sonny gives you, and each client can have a with search and a sitemap.

Yes. The AppSumo deal is $149 once for lifetime access, including future updates to the plan. Bought directly from Sonny, the Pro plan is $19.99 a month.
Does Sonny include AI?
No. AI reply drafts and the auto-responder are a paid add-on. The AppSumo FAQ and Sonny's pricing page quote different prices for the bring-your-own-key option ($149 vs $249), so confirm with Sonny before buying.
Does Sonny support WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram?
No. Sonny handles website live chat and email only. Its FAQ lists social, WhatsApp and SMS channels as unsupported.
send from the client's own domain
help center on their own domain
Getting email in doesn't need DNS at all: you forward a Gmail, Outlook or Hostinger mailbox to the address Sonny generates. One buyer runs a stack of Shopify stores and niche domains this way through Cloudflare email forwarding.
The everyday inbox tools
The basics are covered: statuses, priorities, assignees, tags, private notes with @mentions, saved replies, snoozing, bulk actions and keyboard shortcuts. There are rule-based automations (when/if/then, no AI involved), branded CSAT surveys, and reporting on volume, first-response and resolution times per workspace, channel and agent. If you're moving from Tidio, there's an importer for contacts, transcripts and help articles.
Built for automation
Sonny includes a REST API, signed webhooks and a hosted MCP server, so you can plug it into Claude, ChatGPT or your own agents. Importantly, the MCP server is available without the AI add-on — a nice touch for anyone who'd rather bring their own automation.
Where Sonny falls short
Chat and email only. If your clients' customers live on WhatsApp or Instagram, Sonny isn't the right tool today.
AI costs extra — and the price isn't clear. AI reply drafts and the auto-responder are a separate add-on. Sonny's pricing page lists a bring-your-own-key option at $249 one-time, while the AppSumo FAQ quotes $149 for deal buyers, and a founder update says the AI add-on isn't part of the deal. I'd confirm the price with Sonny before counting on it.
No Shopify app. The widget works on Shopify, and you can pass in logged-in customer details, but there's no order or cart lookup inside conversations.
White label stops at the dashboard. Your clients' customers see your client's brand, but the agent dashboard stays Sonny-branded, and removing "Powered by Sonny" from the widget needs the AI or BYOK add-on.
A young product on AppSumo Radar. The company was founded in October 2025 and has a handful of reviews (all positive). Radar listings aren't vetted by AppSumo and don't get its extended "We Got Your Back" protection — you still get the standard 60-day refund window.
Thin on compliance paperwork. The security page covers encryption in transit and at rest, workspace isolation and role-based access, but I couldn't find SOC 2, a GDPR data processing agreement, two-factor login or an uptime SLA. Fine for many small clients; a blocker for some.
Sonny pricing: lifetime deal vs. monthly
Bought directly, Sonny Pro costs $19.99 a month with a 7-day free trial and no free plan. AI is billed on top: $29.99, $79 or $199 a month depending on how many AI conversations you need.
On AppSumo, Sonny is $149 once (listed against a $720 regular price — roughly three years of Pro). One code covers unlimited workspaces, agents and conversations, and the deal isn't stackable because there's nothing to stack. At $19.99 a month, the deal pays for itself in about seven and a half months, and you have 60 days to redeem the code and 60 days to ask for a refund.
The honest caveat with any lifetime deal from a young vendor: you're betting on the company still being around. The steady stream of updates since June is a good sign, but it's a bet all the same.
What other buyers are saying
Every AppSumo review so far is five stars, and the themes are consistent: the multi-workspace setup is the reason people bought, the interface is described as fast and uncluttered, and the founder is unusually quick to fix things. The softer criticism is that it's still evolving and some features are still to come — which matches what I saw.
My verdict
If you handle chat and email support for several clients, Sonny is one of the most sensible deals I've researched for agencies: per-client branding and separation that normally costs a per-workspace subscription, for one payment of $149, with a 60-day window to change your mind. If you need social channels, Shopify order data or enterprise paperwork, look at the alternatives below instead. Grab Sonny on AppSumo while the lifetime price is still available.

Partly. The chat widget, outgoing emails and help center use your client's branding, and "Powered by Sonny" can be hidden with the AI or BYOK add-on. The agent dashboard itself stays Sonny-branded.
Can I get a refund?
AppSumo offers a 60-day refund window on this deal. Because Sonny is a Radar listing, it isn't covered by AppSumo's extended "We Got Your Back" guarantee.
